just read some information and it detailed the size factor of intercoolers (stating that basically a smaller cooler can do the same if not a similar job as a bigger item you would find being also a cheap core stretching headlight to headlight by efficient core design and would also have way less effective pressure drop across the core yeilding more performance)
It also details differences between designs used in bar&plate tube&fin truck cores and why they are genrally more restrictive than your performance automotive cooler though they do cool better and also details the reasons why used cut down truck coolers is just a stupid idea to use on a car.
