What colour wires do you have coming out of the O2 sensor?
I recently investigated this with a toyota 4 wire sensor (2 black, 1 blue & 1 white) & it turned out the 2 black are for the heating part of it, one to +ve one to -ve, either way 'round.
The blue & white ones are the signal wires, the blue being the +ve & white being -ve, but I worked it out really easily with a multi meter. The white wire is earthed to the outer case of the sensor, so I let my powers of deduction lead me to my answer.
This'd be a good way to check your wires.
