mmm different kind of tech que to the usual LOL

what OS?

if it's XP have a look in your notifications next to the clock - there should be one with a lil green arrow called safely remove hardware. use that and hit 'stop' for whatever usb device it is. best practise with usb is to stop a device before yanking it just to be sure..
