As of June 12, 2005
http://www.mkhala.com.au/thechuckster/RA40_rebuild_thread/test_fit_4.jpg

An update of sorts, not entirely dailup safe (pics are mosly 1024 pix wide).

original info about the car: <http://members.optushome.com.au/mkhala/red_celica/ >

Nearly 12 months after the red-hot-turbo-and-manifold incident i got the car back into the garage, removed the overcooked bits and started to round up the bits needed to get it going:

Exotic exhausts newly fabricated manifold and dump (i had this done about 7 months ago).

Bigworms old turbo (ex RB20 ball-bearing job to boot!) which has been waiting for me to do something with finally got attached to a motor.

Some of the hardware for running efi:
- manifold-to-head faces
- intake manifold (before minor mods made)
- Megasquirt ECU tested and ready to run

Pics from a test fitting into engine bay (sunday 12 June).
- turbo to intake clearance
- turbo to strut-tower clearance
- close-up of piping pfeeding collector

Shows that:
- i need to make new mount for the dashpot that drives the wastegate
- i need to modify the heatshield as i can't get to all the bolts
- clocking the turbo is no major drama except for wastgate actuator
- i have to mod the fuel rail for different fuel entry and exit connectors plus the injectors don't seat correctly.
