I am a tight ass uni student again and can not afford to rebuild my GTI 100kw 4age. Has anyone run a 20v on a 100kw ECU and if so how well did it work?
My other question is has anyone put a 16v head onto a 20v bottom end without adjusting the 20v pistons, does this work?

couple of things -
1. You cant 'adjust' pistons as such
2. As said - why the hell would you want to strip a 20v 4age to put a 16v 4age head on? unless ur planning on massive n/a work to go over 220-230hp - i would definitely not recommend it
as for the original question, you CAN technically run the 16v computer but you will run into problems - ignition timing is slightly different plus fuel maps would be more aggresive for the 20v so you MAY run the risk (slightly) of running lean if u do a bit more work to the 20v (ie CAI, exhaust, timing etc)
i personally wouldnt do it -
