Usally the comp plates on a stat write off are destroyed before they sell the wreck.
As for a repairable write off make sure you take photos of the car before you repair and keep all recipts to show where you got the parts from.
I know of one guy who went to rego the car after repairs only to find that someone had listed damage to the rear as well as the front by mistake.Only for the pics he had taken before and during repairs was he able to show that no damage to the rear exsited.
