yeah... the plenum isn't the best size volume - i was just trying to avoid fabricating another intake.
The zorst side was problematic in the original configuration and i got pretty good response with the intake (in the draw-thru-carbi configuration. so i decided to work on the hot side of things rather than the intake. it also meant less cash-burn.
if you could find some pics of the 18re setup that would be helpful. Google doesn't turn up anything useful ;(
now that i've started to assemble thing i should have got the dude to do the manifold with a low slung turbo so i could have had the injectors mounted further up the runners and pointing at a shallower angle to the airflow (at the moment its 90 degrees which means idle and low-air-speeds will be very poor)

|
i had actually thought about trying to adapt XF efi runners (their indivdual units that all bolt together) but that always entailed welding aluminium (e.g. TiG).
at a guess i'd say that K series (non-crossflow) might be adaptable but i'd be in the same boat as per the XF runners (e.g. alu fabrication). T efi engines are crossflow? so the spacing of runners would not suit the port spacing.
any idea on how rare K-series manifolds are? anyone considered measuring one up for me?
i guess there'll be a few pics of K manifolds here somewhere if i search hard enough?

and a might fine thing that is to do
Brett: it will be running by next year's Toyota Nationals - if you're there, you can drooll on it in person
Wilbo got to drive it a bit in the original configuration - he seemed to enjoy himself (except for the truck-like heavy steering)
