well - the engine supplier might have something to do with the problem?? 
i'd put money on an airleak - the hunting is the aux-air valve trying to compensate - if there was a problem in the dizzi you'd have timing problems thru-out the rev range and load-range.
Start and the airbox/AFM and make your way towards the throttle - something will probably be loose, split or not correctly attached... or stand around watching the mechanic who put the motor in solve the problem
