I have just recieve my 20 valve and am working this out too.
I think the big thing in the middle of your pic is Idle control, as already said. There are 3 wires to the plug. With no power to it, it is just open so needs to be blocked or removed if your not using it. The valve controls extra air from the airbox strait to the ballance tube (bypasses the throttles).
The other electric plug in the right top corner of the picture is (I think, still working out) the charcol canister control valve. There are 4 vacuum lines from the bottom of each throttle all linked. They are all connected to the chracole canister, via some small valves so as not to effect idle too much. When the engine speed is higher (I think..) the electric valve is opened, and the fumes from the charcole canister can flow dirrectly into the ballance tube.
What I call the ballance tube is just the alloy cover the PCV valve goes to. Not really a tube like on my 2T-G, but probably does the same thing.
So I guess for a track car, you just remove everything you see below the throttles there and plug up the holes. But will we have trouble getting the right idle speed? Maybe I can remove the electric idle speed controler, and have a manual screw type one sort of like a crude boost controler, just to control idle.
I wonder how many people have used their Microtech to switch the charcol canister line open? I may give it a go.
