I have a single conrod, part number is 61CM, I can weigh it if you would like.
As for the balancing, I recently discussed the full procedure with a friend of mine who is an engine machinist. His description was that each item is weighed separately, and brought to within 1 gram of each other (con rod, piston, gudgeon pin, conrod-endcap) and then the total weight of each set is passed on to the machine shop, who will match the balancing of the crank to the weight of each piston/rod set. dont forget to used the weight of the circlips in the gudgeon pin balancing, the weight of the rod bolts with the rod itself, the weight of the nuts with the rod endcap and the weight of the rings with the pistons. You should discuss with your crank machinist as to whether or not the weight of the bearings should be included. also one complete piston/rod set with rings should be supplied to the machinist so that their balancing calculations can be based on their weight analysis of the set. Harmonic balancer and flywheel are balanced separately.
Hope this helps to make sense of this all. If you are interested in the rod I have (doubt if you will be) then email me at O_man_ra23@yahoo.com.au
Cheers, Owen
