Head to http://www.discpads.com The early ST185 pads are indeed the same as the ST165 ones, they are listed as Bendix DB1181 on that site (under Toyota Passenger/Celica/1988-89 Celica 4WD) The early ST185's carried over the same twin piston calipers that were fitted to the ST165's. Later ST185's (including all Aus-delivered ones I believe) had single piston calipers with brake pad no DB1129, along with larger diameter discs. As for the rotors, neither this site nor the DBA catalogue list anything for the ST165/early ST185. As far as I know they are the same diameter discs as the ST162 (DBA part no 739) but I believe they were a bit thicker. The ST185 disc listed in the DBA catalogue (743) is no good to you as it is a larger diameter version (as delivered here) and intended to be used with the single piston caliper only. Also check out http://www.gtfours.co.uk/ There is a great article in there about GT4 brakes, follow the side menu to Modifications - 165 - Brakes. It has lots of great photos showing comparisons between ST165, ST185 and ST205 brake calipers, pads and discs.
