definitely take old pump out and fit a cover plate.. otherwise it'll be hammering away and will eventually make noise and be nasty.. passing fuel thru it will also be not so good.. depending on pump design.

ideally, you will get a pump that is self regulating (or can't make any more pressure) to 2-3psi.. the volume doesn't matter so much... as long as it can pump maybe 50-60 litres/hr it will be heaps.

rip off the mech one, cover it up, place new pump near the fuel tank, and you are set Smile.. remember to wire up pump so it turns off Wink
