Differences are far many, but either engine is damn strong.
head design is differnet, valves same size, uses shim under bucket instead of over bucket on 205, intake cam on 205 has higher lift (8.7mm) and longer duration 240vs236, exhaust cam pretty much the same as 185. intake ports are diff size for single runner manifold instead of tvis like the 185. 60mm throttle body on st205, 55mm on st185. metal head gasket on st205. rods, pistons and crank pretty much the same on both. sump different with oil filter located off it on st205, baffling slightly better, little difference really. oil pump i am unsure of. ct20b is a better turbo but cant find parts for it anywhere so people rebuild with ct26a center.
