We have motor vehicle rules and regulation like any other state government but compared to NSW and the RTA, they are practically non existent and can only be described as old fashion. When I go home on holidays my brother and I always take his 1979 Ford Escort MkII Targa/race car for a couple of hot laps around town. We never have any trouble. The cops and general public just look at us like we need to grow up, but that’s about it. Now if we took the car for a little spin down Brighten Le Sands, the car would be impounded and the fines would be huge. The NSW cops and the RTA just wouldn’t appreciate a set of FIA 6 point race belts, 3 inch exhaust, 18 point CAMS roll cage and car stereo with 4 class A Pioneer amps and 10 speakers. It’s a real shame some people in Sydney have wreaked it for everyone and I hope things in Tassy never go that way. A lot of the young people in NSW have missed out on the good old days, so to speak. You hobby has been destroyed and it’s going to get worse by the sound of things. Who would have dreamed that a bloody car stereo could cost you demit points in 2002. I’ve been out of the car scene while living in Sydney and it’s probably been a good move. I just hope things in Queensland are not too tough, as this is where I plan to spend the rest of my life as of October 2002. Enjoy it why you can boys and girls. Justin I used to get pulled over in Tassy by the young cops, but all they wanted was a good look at the car. Now thats how things used to be. Arrr the good old days! Dam I miss home.
