nice work mate, very impressive Wink

about mounting the crossmember, how did you allign it? you say you welded in plate that you would bolt the crossmember too, did these have to be perfectly level or wasnt it an issue? and how did you allign the diff when bolt it in?
cheers.

I used 125x100mm RHS which has about 8mm wall thickness I think (I will check) and cut a section of this out on a corner to give me an L shaped piece of plate. This was then place inside the cut out with the top sitting hard up to the underside of the floor and the side sitting hard up against the side of the car (will take some photos this weekend when I have the lot out cleaning up). Then because i was using the Corona tail shaft and it was bolted to the Celica tail shaft, this basically gave me a reference point, then the assembly was jack into place, roughly, then we took some dimensions to dummy it basically into place, mark the bolting locations, removed the assembly, then check measured these marks to get both sides equal north, east, south, west and drilled some holes. This allowed us to bolt the front of the assembly to the car, then jacked the back of the assembly up until level which allow us to calculate the platforms required to mount rear diff cross-member to, then dropped out assembly again, welded in platforms for rear diff cross-member and repeated same scenario as above.
