recently bought a 91 hilux.... runs perfectly fine,until the speed gets over 80...once i get over 80,the engine begins to sound under stress....but up to 90 it isn't too bad...but after 90,it strains really realy bad, sounds like an airplane..
i don't think this is normal...it sounds like a car in 3rd gear going at 100...
It's a "bees in a can" type noise, and is very annoying
It's not very noisy or anything for normal under 80km/hr driving... you woudln't guess that it goes alot louder after..
It's a 4 speed manual btw, with a 1.8 unleaded engine
Another thing i've noticed, is that when you turn the key to "off" the engine stutters for a bit longer, and then stops.
ie, it doesn't immediately stop...
