I would like to weigh in at this point, I may move away slightly from just the loud stereo idea but here we go. NSW is where I have grown up so I only know about the QLD or WA worlds by friends and my cousins in WA. NSW is by far one of the most regulated states in term of traffic control and infringement. You are not able to defend yourself in anyway, that is no rader dectors can be used - Not that I amsaying go speed, nut who has not been done on the freway for only being a few clicks over the speed limit, You can roll faster than 110 down mooney mooney if you want to. We have more fixed speed cameras than any other state, we have unmarked cars (tangent - I heard that when the German police tried to introduce unmarked cars there was a great public outcry and they backed down), semi unmarked cars with cameras that just park on the side of the road and book away. The introduction of so many speeding cameras (Harbour Tunnel will soon have three cameras and they will not be lit up at all - don't speed in the tunnel, it's just dumb) as created discussion about fixing plates to the front of motorcycles just so those cameras can be used to book both ways!! All these regulations are often disguised (have not even started on the modifying rules yet) as safety (some genuienly are) and hence swallowed by the public. But double demerits, bigger fines etc has not reduced the death toll at all (it has been up in the last two quarters). But who cares because it pays your police force makes a profit. That is the cost for the governemnt to run and pay for a police force is completely offset by the money that their fine machine makes. What do you do.....you modify your car as much as possible and hide any of the gear considered illegal (after mkt computers being one on later model cars) go to track days and best of all by a scanner!
