rob_RA40 Forums Junkie Location: c'town, NSW Registered: May 2002	Re: RA23 BRAKE UPGRADE Mon, 13 January 2003 22:05 for price reasons ive gone from RA40 brakes to standard RT132 brakes and you can feel the difference, the brakes are more effective but i do stress im only using them for street use and i only did the upgrade so i could learn about rebuilding brakes etc, i doubt ill ever make it to the track. so yeah there is a difference between old celica brakes and corona brakes with new discs, pads and rebuilt calipers, but i wouldnt mind a better (harder) pedal, any suggestions on getting a harder pedal? just a side note if you do want to keep the corona calipers make sure u get the anti-squeal plates that live behind the brake pads, you may not think so but they contribute to pedal feel. also some one mentioned using the hilux caliper on the corona solid disc, i dont think this can be done as the caliper is made to fit over a vented disc (ie. peugeot) and so this set up might not work. i suggest you go to DBA website and d/l their cataloge it will give u a HEAP of info on the celica corona and peugeot discs.
