I could be wrong, but it looks like there is an intersection just past where he went off the road, so mabey he was trying to drift with a bit of power oversteer, then when he f'ed the line up and he tried to counter steer, but the mid engine weight kept bringin the car around, so when he finally did get off the go pedal, and tried to brake, it was all over.
You can actually see the car pitch around furthur when he gets off the gas.
PS, now the Jetta driver cant race Jimmy Tran for slips
