Yeah the car has been really fun, I think it was really really powerful for my first car. Acceleration was pretty nice. I think they marked them at about 103kW for that year. (? source: the age cars) 
When I got the car there was one previous owner which had it as a company car, and then bought it when his lease expired. No major problems were with the car..
I bought it off a second hand car dealer a fair bit out of the city. Had new goodyear tires and registration for 12months  . He needed to replace CV joints, the windscreen (as they do), battery (still a problem), and there was a loud tappit noise. He fixed it all up and it was quite good.
I learnt later when driving around that the front right suspension was screwed. I would go around the corner and it would scrape its nose  ended up with some pretty crappy scrapes on the plastic airdam :-S
What did you new motor cost you pedroenglish? What Importer did you go to? Thanks for the tip on the injectors! Do you still have the car? was it the same generation engine?
Anyone know of one in melbourne where I could go and do this?
