This is far too pricey considering the engine is standard. I wouldn't want to pay more than 4 grand for the same conversion in the same car...even turbocharging it wouldn't be out of the question for this price considering how relatively easy this is to do.

The prices workshops charge always amaze me, but then you think, they have to charge for their time (think how many hours YOU'D spend working on it, at $60+ dollars an hour) and they have to make a profit. Plus they have to do everything properly/safely.

So if the prices are too scary then do it yourself, but if you can't do it yourself then the bill is going to be big wherever you go.
