Yeah I was thinking it looked like i'd have to pull the back half off the box and remove the thing from the selector shaft. to get the flogged out bush out. I've got one box with a good bush in there but noisy bearings and another box thats quiet but with stuffed bush, might just swap the good bit over if i cant get a bush at short notice...
Yeah i had my bush replaced as ed said above.
- Take good box with shagged bush.
- remove rear housing
- There is one 10mm bolt holding the shifter extention arm in place, find it and undo.
- Slide shifter extention arm off the selector shaft.
- Do the same with the other box and just swap the extention arms over.
This will work perfectly assuming the shifter positions are identical between boxes. If they are not identical, then the entire shifter position will need to be changed, or at this point, take the extention arm to a machinist to have a new bush pressed in.
