Yes it is quiet, and yes I did mount it as low in the tank as possible - but it surges horribly for the last 1/4 of the tank. A friend on the other hand used an in-line pump between the tank and the metal hoses - fucking annoying sound (comes from everywhere), but using the standard 4ac fuel pickup, it only mildly surges after the fuel light comes on (when mine surges the engine looses ALL power). Just have a look at how many holes and diameter of the standard fuel pickup cap thing before you go buying something from a camry. as you can see from my pic, you don't need to cut anything, just flatted out the bottom support (or cut it off...) and hoseclamp the pump on at the desired height (use two if you are paranoid) extend the hose and wires and you are done... poke it in the hole, if it fits, lower it, if it doesn't raise it etc. [Report message to a moderator]
