My car is a Jap import. It has only been on the track once (at Sandown) where I could only just reach 180km/h on the straights anyway, so I am not 100% sure it is limited. I am hoping to go on Calder Park, Winton and Phillip Island though, where I am told the speeds reached can be higher. At this stage I think I will wait for the next track day to see for sure if it is limited.

It is a bit of a worry with the powerchip not being dyno tuned specifically for each individual vehicle, but being created for a generic model. From a data sheet they sent me, it seems that the boost is increased, and the powerchip just optimises the ignition timing for the increased boost (and for the fuel RON specified). I don't think the mixtures could really be modified due to the the ECU having an embedded unmodifyable processor.

The ~15kw power increase from the boost increase seems about right, due to powerchip claiming 18kW for the 7M-GE, because obviously they cannot increase boost on that engine!

I have no idea who makes the powerchip, but the website is:

Thanks for your replies.
