The R154is not a steel cased box, it's alloy cased with a steel sandwich plate. If you are worried about the trans tunnel, cut one out of a Falcon or Commodore with a column shift and cut the shifter hole where you want it. A bit a hammer and dolly work will be required to fit it in, but you will need to do this with any new trans tunnel. I took this option when fitting a celica steel case 5 speed into an EK Holden. We used a Holden HZ trans tunnel and welded it in for a neat finish.
