That question was purely hypothetical...

Thanks for the response...

It was my (flawed?) understanding that VVT advances the timing as rpm increases, which is what is done also to stop pinging (isn't it??)...

Maybe my question was a bit unclear, and should have been something more like: "Would an engine with VVT ping less than an engine without it when boosted?"

Err...I'm still learning about this kinda stuff btw...My expertise is in computer science...
