4AC originally has a rotten little mechanical one on the engine.
On my KE70 I used an old Mazda electric carb pump as a lift pump, made a little swirl pot by welding a couple of ends on a piece of old tailshaft (any piece of 3" pipe will do), used a VL pump to do the main work (actually used an old Cressida one, but it failed from old age, so I replaced it with a new one), used a carby type plastic in line filter before the lift pump, Z200 (I think) EFI filter after the 'main' pump, and a bunch of fittings, hose, etc. from Pirtek. Didn't take long to do, lets me run the car until the tank is bone dry (i.e. if you get any fuel surge, that's it, you're right out), and I didn't have to touch the original tank, lines, hoses, etc. at all.
