Ive got that Jaycar digital thermometer...

Probably no reason why you couldnt use it to read tyre temperature.
Its quite accurate and responds quickly.

You woud probably have to make up somthing to hold the temp probe to press it onto the tyre.
Its a tiny blob of metal (the thermocouple) held by two wires, so it can bend around easily.
