Yeah, Jaycar sell the IR pyrometers. Not bad, but you really want to be measuring the core temp of the tyre (i.e. with a spike below the surface), not the surface temps.

That said, you can get some vague sort of readings with the IR pyros, enough at least to compare between different setups.
