There will be one big fat cable from the starter going directly to the positive terminal on the battery. There will be then another smaller wire which is the "start" wire. If possible remove this smaller wire and apply +V to the now vacant terminal on the starter. This will hopefully make the engine turn over. The ground connection for the starter is made through the engine block. So also make sure your engine have some good earth cables going to it. [Report message to a moderator]
