Norbie - yeah, trying to get it sorted using the access holes would be impossible for me. id need to go pay a 4 year old. i think that is the only person who could reach up there 
ChuckLandwehr - i know, but that is not my problem. ill try to explain again, i removed all the bolts in the door thinking i could pull the tin sheet with the access holes OFF the door (like in my ae82). but the sheet with the access holes is welded to the door (impossible to take off so that you can work with the regulator without the tin sheet with the access holes). anyway
im DEFINATLY considering rob's idea
