Got a mobile mechanic to assess the situation and he found that the turbo had indeed blown. No compression problems, but unfortunately an equally expensive problem. At the very least the housing will need to be machined and i think the bearing fixed?? not sure but I was quoted upwards of $2200. Does this sound accurate? I'll ring around.
