i dunno exactly, it must work off the voltage pulse or something the head unit puts out through the RCA lead. been too long since i've done this sort of thing theory wise.

as i said above, you would find that would fry the output chip in your head unit. that would be like crossing all the speaker output wires from your head unit together.
