This proves you have an earth fault- heavy current unable to go direct from battery, going very indirectly through other wimpy circuits eg oil sender.
As a test get your black jumper cable, clamped onto say your alloy inlet manifold (or other real good motor connection), other end clamp onto Neg pole on battery. Try now.
