Re: alternator questions

it's very very simple.
basically the alternator is obvoiusly diferent to the one previously in the car and this is the reason why the light stays on.
the alternator is probably out of a car such as an ae92 sx which comes with a voltmeter gauge and the alternator constantly supplies a current to the gauge to make it operate and give a reading.
however because the alternator is now in a different car, the wire in the alternator that sends the current for the volts gauge now goes to a charge light hence the reason why it stays on.
the alternator previously in the car would have a thing inside it that would send a current to the light when the alternator or battery was failing but it sends a constant light beacuse the alternator is different.
if anyone cannot understand this then do a search for the cars wiring diagrams, both the ones for the new alternators owners model and the current car for which the alternator is in and basically follow the wires.
