done it before, all you need is some very good vice grips, those big buggers like plumbers use and undo it like that, if its too tight heat the nut up till its red hot with an oxy then use vice grips and it will come off as easy as piss.
otherwise if all else fails, chissel, big sledge hammer and break the stud then just put a new stud in.
