V8_MA61 Forums Junkie Location: Brisbane Registered: June 2003	Re: how do i tell the difference from R154 2 W58 Mon, 01 August 2005 11:29 very descriptive frank Dude the r154 has a much larger rear half of the box (this is if you are comparing the two side by side) R154s also have a cast iron sandwich plate between the two halves of the box, where as only the later model ma70 and jza80 w58s have a cast one also. almost all of pre 1990 w58s were an all-alloy box. take a magnet (speaker eg) to see if they are definetly cast (it should be obvious!) if you are looking at the box top view, the lhs front half of an r154 has only one partition in its ribbing. The w58 has about 3 from memory. i cant host pics, but if you get me on msn ill gladly send u some pics of the two side by side. [Report message to a moderator]
