At a guess, you should allow yourself atleast 10g for engine. There is going to be a tonne and a half of work needed to get a Gen3 into a hiace. Not saying it can't be done, but you are going to be shelling out big $$$$ for this little project. Source a commodore wrecker, commodore shop in Newcastle would be a good start, commania in Sydney may also be able to help you out. But best bet of all, go to a pickles write off auction and see if you can pick up a write off from there. You then get just about every part you would need.
