I feel that this is incorrect. I would say that MOST W58's are alloy plate (even MA70's came with alloy plate W58's, I have one, and have counted revolutions to confirm).
Cool1 is telling much truth (w58 5th gear is 0.783, 1/0.783 -> ~1.27).
