You might not understand why it would be so expensive, but those of us who have actually been there and done that understand all too well. Remember it's not just a case of bolting in the engine - you also need to upgrade the drivetrain, brakes, suspension, cooling system, electricals... the list goes on and it adds up quickly. My advice is this: engine conversions in almost cases are not worth it if you can't do the work yourself. The labour costs are horrific and you could very easily be out of pocket a lot more than $10k, depending how much the workshop wants to gouge you. If you just want a turbo car you might be better off just buying one. Unless you have a very good reason to stick with the Cressida this will be so much easier and cheaper to get the same result.
