wilbo666 Forums Junkie Location: Brisbane Registered: May 2002	Re: 1985 Cressida 5M-GE to a 1JZGTE Engine Mon, 08 August 2005 06:02 Start the conversion and you will soon work out that it all adds up Roughly off the top of my head...(don't quote me on prices, I said roughly ) *engine mounts $300 *engine mount rubbers (may not be needed) *oil/fluids filters etc $200 + *exhuast / intercooler / piping $2000 *wiring $500 + *driveshaft $300 *PS lines $200 *radiator clean / recore / thermos $400 *fuel pump $150 *airfilter piping / modifications require to fit air box etc $150 *timing belt,rear main seal, gearbox seals etc (preventative stuff) $200 *clutch, pressure plate $500 *flywheel $150 *flywheel bolts *clutch line, slave, master cyl *clutch pedal, smaller brake pedal *front sump $300 and the killer for you my friend *labor @ ~$50 per hour (I'd suspect anywhere from $3000? (I have no idea!) -> 1 billion dollars) I'll let you add it up There is much more to the conversion than just 'bolting it in and putting a tank of petrol in it' I'd suggest you find a running 5mge to put in after you have added up the expected costs Maybe try and find some friends to help you such that you can learn and one day perhaps consider the 1JZ option when you can do most of the labor...(even then it still won;t be as cheap as what you envisage).
