Tue, 28 January 2003 12:48 A few points: - The RA6x and MA6x chassis are not the same. The Supra is several inches longer in wheelbase, and the chassis rails are totally different forward of the doors. - The RA6x engine bay is much smaller. A JZ or M series engine will fit, but not without a lot of screwing around (eg relocating radiator). - I'd be surprised if an M series engine bolted up to an R series crossmember, but maybe it does! - Handling would be crap with so much weight forward of the front wheels. Toyota made the Supra's wheelbase longer for a reason you know. - The main reason the RA6x is lighter is because of the lighter engine. Put a big six in the engine bay, along with the drivetrain to match, and most of the weight advantage will disappear. In summary, it's simply not worth the effort to put a big six in a Celica, especially when it's so much easier and more effective to start with a Supra in the first place.
