The high readings could most likely be from carbon build up. The seals on the valves could possibly be shot causing the oil to leak into cylinder 4 (or cylinders). See about getting a leak down test at a mechanics it'll give a better idea if the rings or valves are dead.
Are you sure you only have a slight leak ? Cause do remember hot oil is more or less runnier then cold oil and when the motor's running the block is under pressure from combustion pressure etc leaking past the rings.
Something of an idea - Clean up the oily spark plug and swap it around with one of the other plugs. Take the car for a spin and pull the plugs, if #4 plug has oil you've most likely got troubles with that cylinder (rings, valves or seals).
