i'd recommend you get your car back from place quick-smart before any further work is done and only pay for labour and parts consumed to date - but then deduct cost of towing car back home.
make it plainly obvious your not happy with the service, you're not wasting any more time with them, they've lost you for good as a customer and you'll be telling every other car owner to go elsewhere for service.
it wont solve your problem of incomplete car, but you as the customer will have taken control of the situation and the workshop will not make any more profit out of you.
Don't give them another opportunity to bullshit you.
Businesses need trade and profit - withdraw it and you cause as much pain to them as they do to you.
Plus you then get to beg and grovel here for folks to help you put your car back together.
