Knackers a guy on the forums a while ago had a 1GGTE Lux. It went alright I think a 13 or 14 sec 1/4 mile. He doesn't post anymore but you could search for him in members, than show all his posts. Hopefully some of your question will of already been asked by him.
He didn't have any firewall mods and atleast engine mounts where custom.
I'm not sure what box your lux came with but I would be putting a W58 at least behind if you wanted to stay manual.
You may have to look at changing the diff ratio to to suit the engine.
Higher pressure pump in line should do the trick no real worries.
