petespipes Regular Location: logan river brisbane Registered: July 2005	Re: Painting with enamel..... or a bumper bar Mon, 15 August 2005 17:06 I am no paint expert but it is useful to know that normal acrylic auto paint can be used on a plastic surface after priming with a "plastic primer" have used it on the dirt bikes over the years,works well. also i believe if the surface is flexible or likely to flex paint can be mixed with a plasticizer [hows it spelt] included to allow some flex in the paint finish without cracking so easily. Phone the kit seller\installers for advice on what they use might be the go.I asked them how they attach bonnet grilles,scoops etc and was informed Sikaflex automotive sealant\adhesive.Stuff needs to remain clamped for 24 hours but certainly does the job.
