it is illegal as it effects the strength of the connection between the wheel and the hub. additionally it put excess stress onto the wheel studs/bearings.
and it will void your insurance due to the bit in your insurance policy that says "vehicle must be ROADWORTHY" or something to that effect... hence modifiying it into a non-roadworthy state will be the first thing they check up and will use to skip out on a payment.. not realy good if you belt into somehting expensive... and given you are putting it on a st184 there are *lots* of things more expensive out there
