I'm looking for the best "balance" between reasonable foot-print and wet weather performance. Thus, I'd imagine 205 would be the max I'd consider (possibly 195s?) with a good directional (read water-dispersing) tread. For comparison, I recently put a set of Yoko AVS sports on my Soarer, with a VERY aggressive water-dispersion tread pattern. These tyres are 235/45ZR17 and 265/40ZR17 respectively, yet I doubt they'd aquaplane like an "inferior" wide tyre might...In testing of these tyres, it was noted that their performance potential couldn't be properly assessed unless their was an inch or more of water across the road! Naturally, I'm not willing to spend that kind of money ($1800) on the Corolla, but I will pay decent $ for an effective wheel/tyre combo. [Report message to a moderator]
