twinturbo86 Regular Location: sydney Registered: June 2003	Re: advice on A\R size please [.7 front .82 rear] Fri, 19 August 2005 01:00 i would doubt the t3 turbo would make 700hp with a .82 housing if it was a 1.06 it would sound more belivable provided the turbine wheel was big enough there is a lot more to selecting the right turbo than just housing size. there is a lot more things to take into consideration eg. compressor maps,turbine & compressor wheel sizes,plain or roller bearing...... garret gt turbos are getting so cheap lately ur better off gettin one of them gt3540 would be the best bet i used to have a gt3040 with a .82 housing and it was rated @600hp with the 1.06 housing so it was probably only good 4 500-550hp with the .82 when u compare it to the gt3540 the only noticeable difference is the turbine wheel is bigger on the 3540 and its rated at 700hp with the 1.06 at the end of the day the t3 with the .82 is the best bet but the power figures seem far fetched, but its the better of the 2 and look into the other factors i mentioned some of them will affect the spool up [Report message to a moderator]
