The exh manifold has a dirty great hole there so the gases can get right up under the intake manifold. To seperate the manifolds you would have to seal up the exh which would rerquire grinding sufficient material off the manifold to fit a plate in.
That sounds like a lok of work to me the other option for you is to get a set of extractors which would improve your performance anyhows.
